VEGAS Magazine is pleased to announce Sue Manteris is chosen for their annual “Vegas Gives” campaign. Sue Manteris has benevolently decided to raise funds for the local Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Sue’s “Vegas Gives” campaign benefits the Southern Nevada chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). She is participating in memory of her beloved grandson Michael Manteris (12) who tragically lost his life to Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) earlier this year. On October 1st Las Vegas saw the most deplorable mass shooting in the history of America with 58 died and over five hundred injured. The local Las Vegas Indian community led by Guru Nanak Gurdwara held a candlelight vigil with over 250 members of the Sikh community in attendance. With service “seva” to humanity as the basic tenet of Sikhism, the local Guru Nanak Gurdwara raised over $5,300 for the Houston Food Bank to assist those who are severely affected by the devastating hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas.
