UNR Professor Krishna Pagilla, Ph.D. Elected a Fellow of the ASCE

After receiving his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from University of California, Berkeley in 1994, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Chair Krishna Pagilla has embarked on a career that, to date, has resulted in more than 200 publications and more than $10 million in research grant funding. Kumud Acharya, Ph.D Named Permanent President of DRI

After filling the role on an interim basis for a year, Desert Research Institute President Kumud Acharya is stepping into the position permanently amid challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. In September, the Nevada System of Higher Education’s Board of Regents approved a four-year contract with Acharya, which runs through Sept. 11, 2024. He’s receiving a $320,000 annual base salary.
