After over seven weeks of emotional trial and couple of days of jury deliberations, the jury found Dr. Dipak Desai guilty on 27 counts. Jury found Dr. Desai guilty of second degree murder, criminal neglect, criminal neglect with substantial bodily harm on several patients and insurance fraud.

Dr. Desai was handcuffed and taken to jail in the presence of his family.  The sentencing is scheduled for September 5^th 2013.  He could face life in prison. 

Outside the courthouse, media was scrambling for further news, reaction or comments from the jury members, defence attorney and prosecutors.  They all refused to comment on the case and refused to talk to the media.

No one from Indian community or Dr. Desai friends showed up at the courthouse.
