Child Neurologist Dr Rooman Ahad Helps Children with Development Disorders
Dr. Rooman Ahad is the only board-certified child neurologist in Nevada with supplemental clinical fellowship training in the field of autism. Born in Chicago, she is the youngest of four girls born to parents who immigrated from India to the United States.
Dr. Ahad is a board certified Child Neurologist. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Illinois and completed her pediatrics training at Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Ahad’s Child Neurology training was completed at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and she went on to pursue a fellowship in autism and neurobehavioral disorders at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Neurology at The UNLV School of Medicine. Dr. Ahad works closely with medical students and residents in the clinical setting. She is involved in numerous outreach and community programs pertaining to children with epilepsy, autism, and other neurological disorders. She also participates in youth and mentoring programs in the Las Vegas metropolitan area.
Named by Vegas Inc. magazine as one of “Top 40 under 40” in Las Vegas, Dr. Ahad completed her undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She did her pediatrics residency at Lutheran General Hospital and went on to complete her child neurology training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She completed a second fellowship in autism and neurobehavioral disorders at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore.
