Dr. R.D. Prabhu Nominated for the Distinguished Nevadan Award
In its meeting on March 1st , 2012 the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education will consider Dr. R.D. Prabhu for the Distinguished Nevadan Award.
Dr. Prabhu has been nominated by the Regent Kevin Page. Dr. Prabhu completed his medical degree from Calcutta, India and did his residency and fellowship in Pulmonary Disesase at the Mt. Sinai City Hospital Center, Elmhurst, NY. Currently, Dr. Prabhu is a owner of the Red Rock Medical Group and Eldorado Medical Center.
Along with Dr. Prabhu, the following well-known Nevadans are also being considered for the Board of Regents award.
Carl Christensen – Retired Judge and Attorney
Dr. Michael Goldberg (posthumously) – Former Professor in Mathematics, UNLV
Pat Lundvall , Partner – McDonald Carano Wilson
Stanley Paher – Author Publisher
Guy Rocha – Historian & Certified Archivist; Producer & Director of Historical Documentaries
The purpose of the distinguished Nevadan award is to recognize prominent individuals who are present or former residents of the state for their significant achievements contributing to the cultural, economic, scientific, or social advancement of Nevada and its people; or for exceptional service to the state or nation that has influenced constructively the wellbeing of humankind.
