Fayyaz Raja Appointed SAPNA’s President-Elect

Political activist and Chair of the Asian American Democratic Caucus joins South Asian Political Network Alliance (SAPNA) as President-Elect.  Fayyaz Raja has been active in a local political scene for the past thirty plus years.  Prior to taking over as a Chair of the Asian American Democratic Caucus, Raja was the second Vice-Chair of the Clark County Democratic Party.  Raja is exceptionally well acquainted with the political campaigns, community outreach programs, fundraising for candidates, arranging the meet & greets and voter registration campaigns.  “With 2018 primary elections in full swing and a crucial upcoming general election in November, Raja with his deep political knowledge will be an incredible asset to SAPNA’s involvement with candidates and elected officials in Nevada,” said Swadeep Nigam, President of SAPNA.

Raja is a founding member of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration Alumni Association. He is a graduate of the Citizen’s Police Academy (Las Vegas Metro) and FBI Citizen’s Academy. Previously, Raja was an active member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Use of Force Review Board and also served on the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Citizens Review Board.

SAPNA – South Asian Political Network Alliance is an independent PAC formed to promote political awareness, action, advocacy, voters’ participation and civic activism in the South Asian/Indian Sub-Continent community in Southern Nevada. This is achieved through political education, campaigning, fundraising, meet and greets, lectures, interactions with elected officials, voter registration, GOTV, and other identified political activities.
