Governor Brian Sandoval Re-appoints Swadeep Nigam to the Nevada Equal Rights Commission

Governor Brian Sandoval has re-appointed Swadeep Nigam to the Nevada Equal Rights Commission for a three year term ending October 2018.

As member of the Equal Rights Commission, Commissioner Nigam will be responsible for protecting the welfare, prosperity, health and peace of all the people of the State, and to foster the right of all persons reasonably to seek and obtain housing accommodations, obtain and hold employment without discrimination, and to seek and be granted services in places of public accommodation without discrimination, distinction or restriction because of race, religious creed, color, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry or gender identity or expression. 

Swadeep Nigam is a 30 year resident of Southern Nevada and brings with him over thirty-five years of experience in both the private and public sectors. Currently, he is a Financial Analyst for the Las Vegas Valley Water District and is a Chief Financial Officer for the Palatine Investments.  Swadeep holds a Bachelor in Accounting (Honors), Masters in Applied Economics, and an MBA in Finance.  Swadeep is the former Treasurer of the Clark County Republican Party, former Assistant Treasurer of the NV Republican Party, Member of the Nevada Policy Research Institute, former Treasurer and Board Member of the Las Vegas Chapter of the NAACP, Board Member of the Kiwanis Club of Asian American in Las Vegas, and delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention.  Swadeep is committed to excellence in education for all Nevadans, and has done so through a scholarship he created in collaboration with NPRI for high school graduates wanting to go to college.
