Gurdwara Gur Nan Prakash Breaks Ground on New Community Building
Construction is underway on the new community building at the Gurdwara Gur Nan Prakash. The new building, with approximately 9,000 square feet of usable space, is expected to be completed in 2025. The two-story building will replace the temporary tent structure on the Gurdwara grounds. The first-floor community dining/langar hall plans call for a large modern commercial kitchen with ample room for the congregation to dine collectively. The second floor will have an administrative office, meeting rooms, living quarters for the priests, a library, and a museum.
The milestone construction of the building consisting of a hall and other usable spaces will bring the Gurdwara Nan Prakash to current conforming standards worldwide for Sikh community places of worship. Most construction funding is expected from the Gurdwara regular attendees and other key stakeholders; however, the hall’s completion is still not fully funded.
The central location of the Gurdwara, which opened in 2020, has experienced a steady growth of families and tourists alike attending the regular religious services. Built on the expansive 4.27-acre, Gurdwara has a main prayer hall and ample parking with easy access to and from the Beltway and Las Vegas famous strip.
Regardless of religion or national origin, community members are welcome to visit Gurdwara Gur Nan Prakash to fulfill their spiritual requirements. Volunteer members of the community run Gurdwara’s daily operation, which is centrally located around the resort corridor at 7640 Heaven Street, behind the Las Vegas Premium Outlet.
