Lohri Festivities at the Hindu Mandir and at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara

HINDU and JAIN TEMPLE of Las Vegas and Guru Nanak Gurudwara invites the community to their Annual Lohri festivities on Saturday, January 13th. NO COST TO ATTEND. Dinner is sponsored by the local families.

Lohri is a harvest festival that celebrates the end of peak winter. This festival is traditionally associated with the harvest of the rabi crops in India. It is also the cultural celebration of the winter solstice. A key feature of Lohri is the bonfire. At your Hindu Temple, the bonfire will be lit, and people attending will toss sesame seeds, gur & sugar candy on the bonfire, sing, dance, and enjoy the communal dinner.

  • When: Saturday, January 13th, 2024 at 5:30 PM at the Gurudwara and at 6:30 PM at the Hindu Mandir
  • Where: Hindu & JAIN TEMPLE of Las Vegas, 1701 Sageberry Drive, Las Vegas and at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, 4487 E. Russell Rd., Las Vegas
  • Cost: NONE – Open to ALL

Lohri celebrations are open to the diverse communities of Southern Nevada. Everyone is welcome to join, irrespective of religion, caste, creed, sex, political affiliation, or national origin.
