Miss Asian Las Vegas Pageant
Who will be the first Miss Asian Las Vegas? The inaugural Miss Asian Las Vegas pageant will be held on October 12, 2013 at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino.
The event aims to provide a platform for young Asian American women to showcase their talent and beauty and help build a stronger and culturally aware Asian American community within Las Vegas, according to pageant founder, Annie Chang.
“We can’t think of a more exciting place to host our inaugural event than in Las Vegas, a city with a very international and diverse population,” said Chang, a former Miss Chinatown San Francisco and community leader. “The Miss Asian Las Vegas pageant will offer delegates the ability to learn more about leadership, community involvement, friendship, self-confidence, and self-awareness.”
The Miss Asian Las Vegas pageant includes contestants with the following qualifications:
· One-quarter Asian American or Pacific Islander descent
· 16 – 28 years old
· Never been married
· No children
Pageant contestants will showcase their talents through various pageant sections, including interviews, swimwear, ethnic costumes, and evening gowns, to name a few. The winner of the Miss Asian Las Vegas pageant will go on to compete in the 2014 Miss Asian America pageant, the longest running Asian American pageant in the United States.
Miss Asian Las Vegas is sponsored by Tropicana Hotel & Casino, Mikimoto, Sushi Roku, Dr. Samir Pancholi of Pancholi Cosmetic Surgery of Las Vegas and the Miss Asian America Pageant.
The Miss Asian Las Vegas Organization’s mission is to provide a platform to help build leadership, friendships, community involvement, etiquette, and talent in young Asian American women in Las Vegas. The Pageant will also help to promote each contestant’s unique culture, identity, passions, and personal and humanitarian goals as well as showcase contestants’ overall essence of intellect, leadership and beauty.
