Paul S. Padda nominated by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval To Serve On Important Commission

Darshpaul (“Paul”) Singh Padda was recently appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval to serve on the Nevada Commission on Minority Affairs.  Acting on the Governor’s recommendation, the Nevada legislature unanimously confirmed Mr. Padda’s appointment to this important non-partisan commission.

The Commission, which is part of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, is empowered to study the economic and social well being of minority communities, disseminate information, encourage minority entrepreneurs and make recommendations to the Governor on proposed legislation.

Commenting on Mr. Padda’s appointment, Hui-Lim Anh, Chairwoman of the Commission, commented favorably on Paul Padda’s impressive background: “With his outstanding academic credentials and the high-profile work he is doing in the legal profession, Mr. Padda was an easy choice for this important Commission that will be advising Governor Sandoval.”  She further added, “I think Paul’s background as a lawyer and as an advocate for individuals dealing with the legal system will be of tremendous help to our Commission as we plan for a year in which we are expected by the Governor to do big and important things.”  Reached by Vegas Desi, Mr. Padda stated “As an Asian American and resident of this state, I am very honored to be on this Commission that will assist minorities and recommend important legislation to the Governor for the purpose of making positive contributions to the civic and business environment of Nevada.” 
He further added, “I fight for the rights of individuals and businesses in court every day, now I will have the opportunity to advocate to the legislature, through the Governor’s Office, for the rights of minority communities in our
