Roseman University Professor Manas Mandal, Ph.D. Receives Fulbright Specialist Award
The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board are pleased to announce that Manas Mandal, Ph.D. of Roseman University of Health Sciences, has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award. Dr. Mandal will complete a project at BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus in India that aims to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions, and communities both in the U.S. and overseas through a variety of educational and training activities within the field of biology education.
Dr. Mandal is one of over 400 U.S. citizens who share expertise with host institutions abroad through the Fulbright Specialist Program each year. Dr. Mandal has been selected for this year’s Fulbright Specialist Award based on his academic and professional achievement, demonstrated leadership in the field of biology education, and the future potential to foster long-term cooperation between the U.S. institutions and BITS Pilani, Goa.
Since joining Roseman University in 2006, Mandal has coordinated and taught immunology to students in the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program and students and residents in Roseman University’s College of Dental Medicine.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Mandal is active in research. His current research interest includes the detection of the salivary biomarker in orthodontics patients, the use of bacterial toxin in vaccine delivery, marine toxin in drug discovery, drug-induced immune modulation, and educational research.
Currently, Dr. Mandal is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Roseman University. Dr. Mandal graduated from the Presidency College, University of Calcutta, with an M.Sc. in Physiology and a Ph.D. in Sciences from Jadavpur University, India.
