State Bar of Nevada Awards $50,000 Grant to South Asian Bar Association of Las Vegas
The Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada is pleased to announce a $50,000 IDEA Grant to the South Asian Bar Association of Las Vegas. The IDEA Grants are awarded for program initiatives that advance the state bar’s mission and strategic goals.
The funds will be used for numerous Student Support Programs with scholarships to attract minority students, especially South Asian students, to a career in law. Additionally, there will be scholarships for minority undergrads taking LSAT, minority community events, and extra-curricular events for minority law students.
“We are sincerely thankful to the State Bar for awarding the grant money to our organization to encourage South Asian students to consider Law as a career,” said Eric Kohli, President of the South Asian Bar Association of Las Vegas.
Members of the South Asian community who come from a lower-income family background and who are interested in a legal career for their children should contact Swadeep at snigam@paulpaddalaw.com
SABA-LV is planning a series of complimentary educational dinner meetings for South Asian families with high school or younger children. The purpose of such meetings will be to educate South Asian families about the benefits of a career in law for their children, including potential financial support that may be available.
