Traditional Association for Cultural Harmony Celebrates Diwali

TACH (Traditional Association for Cultural Harmony) a nonprofit organization presents Nevada 150th Birthday & Festival of Diwali with Music and Dance on Oct 18th, 2014 at Laxalt Auditorium (UNR), 401 West 2nd St, Reno @ 7.00pm.

This concert will present a collaboration of Indo-American artist, an Indian Dance, Indian Classical Kachappi Veena, and Sarod. There will be a jam session of music among Veena, Sarod and Tabla at the event.  Top artists presenting at the events are: 

Anindita Nanda (Connecticut)Odissi Dancer Anindita, a danseuse par excellence is a rare combination of dancer, classical vocalist, choreographer, teacher & scholar. She is an accomplished artist and is a known name with in the Odissi genre.  Her dance has the excellent blend of sensuous movement, graceful stances and strong defined footwork with absolute control of the rhythm and space. The elaborate choreography’s, fluidity of her movements and intrinsic foot works are trademark of her performances and her creations. She received “Nritya Shree”,”Nritya Visharad” and “Nritya Praveen” from Kala Vikash Kendra, and the National Music Association, Katak.

Chakrapani Singh (Reno), Chakrapani is the one of the generations’ brightest stars with a career that promises to be illustrious and innovative. Each steps of Chakrapani’s everlasting love and fiery passion for music is undoubtedly captivating and joyful journey for the music lovers of the world. As a musician, he leaves every music lover spell bound with his flashes of unparalleled brilliance and his uncanny ability to strike an instant rapport with the audiences transcending of all ages.

Ravi Pandita (Sacramento, CA), Ravi is an avid violin player. Started learning and recording music at an early age, Ravi is currently working in Information Technology in Sacramento.

Danny Birch (Reno, NV), learned Sarod in Nepal & India. He composed directed and performed music for number of stage dramas in Nepal with the Studio 7 Troupe. Danny has also performed at Nepal Radio and TV.

Peter Fairley & Jim Meiklejohn (Reno, NV), Peter is a student of Zakir Hussain and Jim is learning from Sapan Choudhury. Both are going to accompany Chakrapani Singh on tabla.
