Holi Celebrations at the Hindu Mandir

Hindu Mandir invites the community to Holika Dahan on Friday, March 2nd from 7pm-8:30pm.  Celebrations include burning of Holika followed by the community dinner.  No colors will be played at the Mandir.  Surprisingly, the Mandir website is not updated for this important event information.   Holi celebrations/picnic with colors is being celebrated by the Friends of India on March 10th…

Rajan Zed to open both Illinois Senate & House of Representatives with Hindu prayers

On February 27 and 28 respectively, Illinois State Senate and House of Representatives in Springfield will start their sessions with Hindu prayers, containing verses from world’s oldest existing scripture. Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, who resides in Reno (Nevada), will deliver the invocations from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before the Senate and House. Carson City Board of Supervisors started its meeting on February 15 with ancient Gayatri Mantra, considered the most sacred mantra of Hinduism. Hindu statesman Rajan Zed delivered the invocation from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before the Board. After Sanskrit delivery, he then read the English translation of the prayer. Fayyaz Raja Elected Chairman of Asian American and Pacific Islander Democratic Caucus

Medical Board Files Complaint Against Dr. Devendra Patel for Malpractice and Financial Gain

The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners has charged Dr. Patel on three counts – malpractice, violating patient’s trust for financial gain, and failure to offer appropriate procedures for financial benefit.  In this particular case, Dr. Patel saw a patient with the progressively increasing malaise, fatigue, and shortness of breath at less than normal exertion.  The patient had a history of coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension along with other health issues.  Accordingly, coronary artery bypass surgery was performed on the patient.
