Historic Appointment – Gov. Joe Lombardo Appoints Indian-American Tina Talim to the Eighth Judicial District Court

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo announced the appointment of Tina Talim, Esq., to a recently vacated Clark County District Court Department 14 seat by Judge Adriana Escobar, who decided to retire. Talim, who currently serves as the Team Chief of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Unit in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, immigrated to the United States from India as a young child. Gurdwara Gur Nan Prakash Breaks Ground on New Community Building

Construction is underway on the new community building at the Gurdwara Gur Nan Prakash. The new building, with approximately 9,000 square feet of usable space, is expected to be completed in 2025. The two-story building will replace the temporary tent structure on the Gurdwara grounds. Mechanical Engineering Associate Professor Pradeep Menezes and Chemical & Materials Engineering Professor Mano Misra have been awarded a $500,000 Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) grant for their project to strengthen storage canisters used for nuclear waste. The project, “Manufacturing of Spent Fuel Storage Canisters with Superior Stress Corrosion Cracking Resistance using Advanced Hybrid Laser-Arc Welding and High-Pressure Cold Spray Additive Post-Processing,” was funded in early 2024.
