Bone Marrow Drive for Professor Nalini Ambady
Nalini Ambady, Stanford University Professor and a mom with two daughters in high school has been diagnosed with Acute Myelogenus Leukemia (AML) which is a cancer of the blood. Bone Marrow Drive is scheudled during the Vaisakhi Mela.
After 8 years in remission, Nalini’s leukemia has returned, and she needs a bone marrow transplant within the next 6 weeks. Her donor must match her, genetically. Las Vegas members of the Telugu community, along with NATA (North American Telugu Association) are spearheading this improtant humanitarian cause and have scheduled a Bone Marrow drive at the Vaisakhi Mela (Indian Food Festival) on Saturday, May 4th at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater – 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy, Las Vegas.
