New Executive Committee Elected for the Hindu Mandir
In a recent held Board of Trustees meeting, the Board has announced a new Executive Committee to run daily operations of the Hindu Temple of Las Vegas.
The new executive committee includes the dedicated individuals who have been volunteering at the Mandir for the last few years. The new committtee was blessed by Pandit Brijesh on Sunday, 3rd August to carry on the business of providing spritiual needs of the growing Hindu community of Las Vegas.
The new executive committee members are –
President – Neelu Piplani. Prolific volunteer, wife, mother and entrepreneur Neelu Piplani is elected as President of the Hindu Temple. Neelu has been a dedicated volunteer for the past few years and has managed and arranged numerous programs at the Mandir – from Dusshera Mela to the daily upkeep of the Mandir.
Vice President – Saroj Singh. Thirty year Las Vegas resident Saroj Singh is elected as Vice President for her commitment and volunteer service to the Las Vegas Indian community. Apart from her commitment to the Mandir, Saroj is actively involved in conservative politics. For over thirty years, Saroj and her extended family has been volunteering at numerous community events. Saroj’s brother Late Raghvender Singh was instrumental in starting Friends of India.
Secretary – Arun Gupta. Arun Gupta is elected as Secretary for the Mandir. IT technologist turned lawyer Arun and his wife Rachna have been actively participating in local Indian community functions since their move to Vegas in 1997.
Asst. Secretary – Paresh Joshi. Paresh Joshi is elected as Assistant Secretary. Paresh, an IT employee at the Southwest Gas moved to Vegas in 2002 from Pune, India.
Treasurer – Srinivasan Ganti. Srinivasan is elected a Treasurer for the Mandir. Srinivasan is also a member of the Board of Trustees and has made a copious donation to the Mandir.
Asst. Treasurer – Bharti Sharma. Bharti Sharma needs no introduction as the community members have known her for her deep commitment to the Indian community. Bharti, along with husband Vishwinder, have continuously provided resources to many community events.
Food Coordinator (Appointed) – Ramesh Piplani. Ramesh, husband of Neelu Piplani, is always around and sometimes behind Neelu to continue being a volunteer work horse and has kept the Mandir going for the past several years.
At the same meeting, the Board elected Radha Chanderraj as Chairman and Rajiv Khamamkar, Vice Chairman of the Hindu Temple.
