Highest Compensated Indian Americans in Las Vegas – Rajesh Shrotriya, MD, CEO of Spectrum Pharmaceuticals and Ramesh Srinivasan, CEO Bally Technologies

In an annual compensation report compiled by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Rajesh Shrotriya, CEO of Las Vegas based Spectrum Pharmaceuticals ranked 4th in Las Vegas in local CEO compensation for 2012. 

Rajesh who earned $10,108,000 in 2012, which is a little behind, $580,000 to be exact, Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson.  Rajesh is the only non-gaming CEO in the top five compensated CEO’s in Las Vegas.

As per the SEC reports, Bally Technologies CEO Ramesh Srinivasan made over $4.75 million in 2012.  

Last year, Rajesh made the headlines by toping the CEO compensation list with 2011 compensation of over $25 million.  Rajesh’s annual compensation includes salary, cash bonus, stock awards, option awards and other benefits of being a CEO of Spectrum which had annual revenue of $267.7 million as of December 2012.  Rajesh compensation comes to 3.78% of the annual revenue of Spectrum Pharmaceuticals.  Currently, Spectrum stock is selling $7.50 range.  On March 13th, 2013, the volatile Spectrum’s stock, with a beta value of 1.9, lost almost over 37% in one day.

Rajesh moved to Henderson area two years ago when Spectrum Pharmaceuticals moved their headquarters from Southern California to Henderson.  Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotechnology company, engages in acquiring, developing, and commercializing prescription drug products primarily in the areas of hematology and oncology.  

In September 2000, Dr. Shrotriya joined the Company as President and Chief Operating Officer and in August 2002, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. In this capacity he has spearheaded major changes in business strategy and coordinated structural reorganization culminating in the formation of Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc.


Previously, Dr. Shrotriya was Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer for SuperGen, Inc. and Vice President, Medical Affairs and Vice President, Chief Medical Officer at MGI Pharma, Inc. For 18 years he held various positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, the most recent being Executive Director Worldwide CNS Clinical.

Ramesh Srinivasan was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Bally Technologies in December 2012 after being promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer in March 2011. He joined Bally in 2005 as Executive Vice President of Systems, responsible for the Systems business unit.
