Two Indian Physicians Fired For Patient Dumping
In the wake of ongoing investigation into improper patient dumping two Indian Physicians, senior psychiatrists Dr. Anurag Gupta and Dr. Rao Puvvada are fired from their job at the Rawson Neal Psychiatric Hospital.
The firing was a result of an internal investigation into the case of mentally ill patient, James Brown, who was given a one way bus ticket to Sacramento where he has no family and knows no one.
In a prepared statement, Governor Brian Sandoval said,”All individuals who violated release policies have been or will be disciplined,” which resulted in terminations of Dr. Gupta and Dr. Puvvada.
California and Nevada authorities are investigating the case on inhumane patient dumping by Rawson Neal Hospital staff. Additionally, some of the California State legislators are asking federal authorities to probe patient dumping by Nevada hospitals.
