Now Open – Nevada Institute of South Asian Music
Subramaniam Vaikuntam (Subbu) is proud to announce the launch of the Nevada Institute of South Asian Music (NISAM), in partnership with renowned classical vocalist Pandit Amit Chakraborty. This exciting new initiative is dedicated to fostering excellence in music through structured music education.
NISAM will begin by offering vocal training and plans to gradually expand into related musical programs including instrumental instruction, with the aim of preserving and sharing the rich traditions of South Asian music. The institute is committed to nurturing musical talent within the community and cultivating the next generation of performers and enthusiasts.
Subbu has been an active member of the Las Vegas music community for over a decade. He is the Founder and President of the India Fine Arts Association of Nevada (IFAAN), a non-profit organization that promotes Indian classical music by organizing 2-3 events per year in Las Vegas.
NISAM is now open for enrollment and welcomes students of all levels who are eager to learn the intricacies of South Asian music, film compositions, vocal and instrumental music. The institute is also open to partnerships and collaborations with individuals and organizations who share a passion for music education and cultural enrichment.

About NISAM Teachers…

Amit Chakraborty, born in a musical family, is today a well-known and internationally quite an accomplished Indian classical vocalist. He started his musical training when he was merely a child. He learned from many legendary musicians and connoisseurs. He was awarded prestigious “Sangeet Bhushan” by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh at really a tender age. Despite belonging to a specific tradition, he never failed to leave his stamp of individuality whenever he performed. He has many a times performed almost all over the globe like India, Germany, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, UKand USA . His unique style is a skillful mingling of both traditional vocal music and some striking features of Indian instruments.
Amit Chakraborty is widely admired for his highly commendable capability of teaching and explaining the nuances of North Indian Classical music. He both physically and online has extensively been teaching students in countries like India, Germany, US and UK etc .

Subramaniam Vaikuntam (Subbu) is a passionate singer, a very good trainer of Indian Music and an IT professional by profession. He has steadily made good progress over the years as a well-admired singer in the community. Both in Vegas as well as in entire US, he is held today in high esteem among the performers and practitioners of Hindi Film songs. Recently, he released an original bhajan on popular music platforms.
From 2018 thru 2021, he participated in several singing competitions across US and won a lot of accolades. Over the past two years, he has taken his singing to another height by himself obtaining Carnatic vocal training from Shri Gopal Venkataraman and Hindustani Classical Vocal training from Pandit Amit Chakraborty.
