Hindu and Jain Temple of Las Vegas Board of Trustee Radhika Janga Files a Lawsuit Against the Hindu Society of Nevada and Priest Brijesh Raval
Turmoil surrounding the Hindu Society of Nevada (HSON), also known as the Hindu and Jain Temple of Las Vegas, commonly referred to as the “Hindu Mandir,” continues as an active board member, Radhika Janga, has filed a lawsuit against the nonprofit Hindu Mandir and its priest Brijesh Raval.
Following the filing, Janga also submitted a peremptory challenge to the judge initially assigned to the case. The matter was originally assigned to the Hon. Tim Williams. As a result of the peremptory challenge, the case has since been reassigned to the Hon. Mary Kay Holthus.
Per the lawsuit, mandir by-law section 6 states that “Governing Members shall oversee the protection of the Temple’s assets and their efficient use.” The Janga’s lawsuit alleges that over the past several years HSON has experienced significant governance dysfunction, including, more recently, strategic board deadlock and lack of quorum, declining congregational confidence, and increasing internal disputes.
It is further alleged that despite the foregoing duties, obligations, and responsibilities, HSON and the Governing Members are refusing to safeguard the organization’s funds as honest and prudent fiduciaries should when acting with the appropriate care, skill, and judgment. HSON assets are being wasted and spent without proper approvals, audits, or oversight. Further, the lawsuit states that Raval’s employment agreement expired in December 2025, yet he continues to purportedly operate as a Temple Priest and receive compensation without valid Board authorization or approval and without a valid employment agreement. This is, per complaint, a waste of the Temple’s funds and assets.
The lawsuit alleges, in addition to Raval’s non-employment with HSON, Temple members have raised concerns regarding Raval’s solicitation of Dakshina (monetary donations) for purported Temple services and under the false cloak of HSON authority, which have made them feel uncomfortable.
Additionally, allegations include Priest Raval is improperly using HSON resources for his individual purposes and “advertising” under the Temple’s name and is using the Temple facilities, Temple goodwill, Temple resources, and his position as Temple Priest to solicit and perform private astrology-related services for personal financial gain.
In the past, former HSON Chairman scheduled multiple Board of Trustees meetings but all the meetings failed to achieve a quorum and the June 7 meeting was cancelled due to a threat of legal action. The lawsuit alleges that despite lacking an employment agreement or other authorization, Raval continues to hold himself as a Temple Priest and receive compensation from HSON. He also continues to reject the governance procedures in place, including by conducting his astrology side-business on HSON’s premises.
The lawsuit seeks a range of legal and financial remedies arising from the claims asserted by the plaintiff. The causes of action include breach of contract, declaratory relief, accounting, unjust enrichment, and injunctive relief. The plaintiff, Radhika Janga, is also seeking a full accounting of all monies received from Temple-related activities, including an accounting of funds and financial benefits allegedly received by the defendants. The lawsuit also requests reimbursement for costs and attorneys’ fees including pre- and post-judgement interest, as permitted by law.
This publication has learned from multiple confidential sources that, at the time this lawsuit was filed, both Hindu Mandir priests, Pandit Brijesh Raval Ji and Pandit Vishnu Ji were understood to be working under the same employment contract. According to those sources, there was no new or revised employment contract approved by the Board in effect at the time the lawsuit was filed.

Please don’t confuse social media activity with the issues in this lawsuit. Seeing astrology posts on someone’s social media does not prove that temple rules were violated or that anything improper happened at the temple. If there is evidence of a violation, present the evidence. Otherwise, bringing unrelated social media posts into the conversation only creates more accusations and division. The discussion should be based on facts, not assumptions.

While it is sad to see a legal dispute arise again, I trust that the truth will come to light through the proper legal channels. 2yrs ago this same matter happened and the plaintiff used the temple funds which never was paid back. This Dispute has opened again and now they are Targeting Pundit Brijesh Ji. Let’s keep our focus on our prayers and let both the priest do the spiritual duties.
I am deeply concerned about the allegations being presented regarding Pandit Brijesh Raval and his service to the temple. Pandit Raval is at the temple to perform his spiritual and religious responsibilities and serve the Hindu community. It is unfair to portray his presence and service as though he is simply receiving money without authorization.
There is also important history that should not be overlooked. A few years ago, similar allegations were made by Ram Janga, the husband of the current plaintiff, Radhika Janga. Now, years later, we are seeing similar accusations involving the same family again. During the earlier dispute, it was understood that temple funds were used by Ram Janga to pursue that legal matter. If temple funds were in fact used for that case, this raises a serious question of accountability:
Was the expenditure properly authorized by the Board, and was it truly in the best interest of the temple and its members? This also raises a very reasonable question:
Why is Pandit Raval repeatedly being targeted? We should also ask why this conflict continues, who is benefiting from it, and why temple resources are being used to pursue these disputes.
Bringing forward similar accusations again years later creates the appearance of an ongoing personal dispute, particularly when the allegations again focus on Pandit Raval and his position at the temple. If Radhika Janga had legitimate concerns about temple governance, finances, or employment matters, those concerns should be addressed through the proper Board. They should not be turned into repeated public accusations that can damage someone’s reputation and create division within the community. Temple money belongs to the temple and ultimately to the community. Board members have a fiduciary responsibility to ensure that those funds are used appropriately and prudently. If temple resources are being spent pursuing disputes that stem from personal disagreements or internal conflicts, the congregation deserves transparency and accountability – not repeated personal conflicts that divides the community.
Where is the board now? chairman (Dr. Daulat) and vice chairman (Dr Renu Jain) resigned, secretary/treasurer Bhandari resigned – who is managing the temple? one of the most dysfunctional board to say the least.
This trustee, Ms Janga, should be ashamed of her actions. It sounds like a personal attack on the temple and Brijesh panditji. I have gotten several pooja’s done by panditji & he always ensures temple fees are paid first, without ever ‘demanding’ a dakshina. I also follow his social media account and all his posts are related to knowledge on our sanatan dharma, which I have learned so much from. I have never seen him advertising himself or using temple’s platform for his personal gain which this lawsuit claims. Instead of being grateful of having such a knowledgeable and trusted panditji in our Las Vegas temple, these people are stooping to new lows for reasons only known to them.
I continue to come to the temple cause we have a priest that knows how to perform poojas the proper way, genuinely cares for the temple’s well being, and continues to motivate and inspire people to follow our dharma.
And after reading this post, a couple points come to my mind:
1) how is Ms Janga planning to pay for this lawsuit? Is she going to use her personal funds or MISUSE temple funds that she claims to be protecting?
2) If both Brijesh panditji and Vishnu panditji are on the same employment agreement, why is this lawsuit only targeted on Brijesh panditji?
This whole mess is so sad to see and such a disgraceful move by Ms Janga. I am sure truth will prevail at the end!
I am deeply concerned about the treatment of Pt. Raval and the possibility that community identity is influencing decisions about his position at the temple. If the intention is to remove him because he does not belong to a particular community, that would be deeply troubling and inconsistent with the values of inclusivity and equality that a temple should uphold.
It is truly disturbing that the trustees have previously spent $250,000 on legal fees and have now chosen to question the integrity of an honest priest who is being treated with disrespect. Any concerns about Pt. Raval should be addressed fairly, transparently, and based on facts rather than personal disagreements or community-based considerations.
I also question whether Pt. Vishnu is being treated differently because he is South Indian, while Pt. Raval is not. If there is a personal disagreement with Pt. Raval because he has not agreed to dance on their tunes, that should not be allowed to influence decisions about his role as a priest.
Pt. Raval is a reputed priest who is very knowledgeable and dedicated to sharing spiritual knowledge with devotees, both at the temple and through social media. His contributions deserve to be recognized and evaluated fairly.
I urge the board to investigate these concerns impartially, ensure that all trustees act without discrimination or personal vendettas, and take appropriate action if any trustee is found to have engaged in discriminatory conduct. The temple should be a place where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality.
First and foremost, Hindu Temple of Las Vegas is a sacred place of worship, prayer, culture, and community for its devotees. Its reputation, resources, and spiritual sanctity deserve respect and protection. The Temple priests also serves an important religious role, preserving our traditions, performing sacred ceremonies, guiding devotees, and protecting the continuity of our faith. Administrative or contractual disagreements should not automatically be used to discredit that spiritual service or publicly damage the reputation.
Dakshina is longstanding religious and cultural significance and should not be characterized as misconduct without complete context and credible evidence.
Protecting the Temple should mean protecting its assets, but it also should include protecting its devotees, its spiritual leaders, its traditions, and the presumption of fairness owed to everyone involved.
I have a serious question: if Temple funds are being used to pursue litigation against the Temple itself and its priests, how does that protect the Temple’s assets or serve its devotees? Those funds were contributed for worship, religious services, community programs, maintenance, and the preservation of our faith. It is not to finance internal disputes that could financially and reputationally damage the temple. Any use of Temple money for this lawsuit should be fully disclosed, properly authorized, independently reviewed, and shown to serve the Temple’s best interests. No individual should be permitted to use charitable funds to advance a personal dispute without clear authority and appropriate oversight.
If both temple priests share the same employment agreement situation, why is only Pandit Brijesh Ji being targeted? This double standard needs to be addressed publicly.
His personal social media provides valuable Dharma guidance without marketing temple or astrology services. Stop dragging a respected priest into board conflicts. The community stands with Pandit Ji.
That shows that the lawsuit is a personal vendetta against Pundit Brijeshji.
Not only this cooks have not refunded $200,000 to Mandir, by filing lawsuit against Mandir and one of the Priest that they have personal vendetta against, they want to put the Mandir and its resources further into decline. They just have one aim, get rid of Shashtriji by hook or crook.
They have no shame and they don’t care about Mandir and our beloved Shashtriji.

Let us hope the temple leadership understands the value of such community events . We hope they stop public displays of infighting and settle administrative issues within the boundaries of the board meetings and without law suites.

Why both Husband and wife misusing temple funds it’s all devotee’s money. Previously Janga and Dr Jain said they will give money back to temple but they never did they lie in front of all devotees inside the temple in front of god how can you trust them??

If there is a contract violation, let the actual contract and evidence establish it. But the $600,000 house claim is clearly hearsay—you said “I am told.” Please don’t present rumors as facts. Let’s focus on documented facts, not speculation or personal finances.
Ms. Radhika Janga is herself a member of the Board of Trustees. That makes the situation even more concerning. What is the purpose of repeatedly pursuing these matters against the temple’s priests? Is this really in the best interest of the temple and its devotees?
I am not suggesting that anyone should be removed simply because of a disagreement. But if a trustee repeatedly creates disputes that damages the reputation of temple and its priests then congregation has every right to demand transparency, accountability, and a review of whether that person should continue serving as a trustee.
I was able to speak with one of the trustee, and I was told that there was no expired employee contract as is being claimed. If that is correct, then this allegation needs to be addressed with facts and documentation rather than being presented to the public as truth.
Our temple needs trustees who bring people together, not circumstances that continually divide them.
A question for the Board: With accusations and disputes involving the same trustee both previously and now, why are they still on the Board? Is the Board’s continued silence and inaction a sign that this behavior is being supported or tolerated? If not, who is supporting it, and why hasn’t the Board acted? Trustees hold a position of trust. Devotees deserve explanation.
The Janga family should be removed from the temple trusteeship amd made pariah.
I have been going over all the Comments that got Posted for this article and it seems like Janga and Jain is showing there personal toward Pundit ji. There is 2 pundits in the Temple and they both Do the Sewa the way they do and They Both Take Dakshina to so Why only targeting Pt BrijeshJi. Punditji shares his knowledge with the Entire community and Janga and Dr Jain can’t see him Grow. Before you both get into this return the temple funds you all have used toward the lawsuit you filed. That’s the big issues not Punditji social media clip that he shares with Us.
The plaintiff, Radhika Janga you are saying that HSON assets are being wasted and spent without proper approvals, audits, or oversight. Who is doing the Audits for the temple funds that you used for filing the last lawsuit. Did you return the funds? I hope there will be another Gen Public meeting at the temple again. Who remembers what happened Last time.
I spoke to few trustees recently and according to them the main culprit is Rao Gondy and Dr Anita Gondy. Rao was expelled from the board some years back. He is the one trying to settle the score with the trustees who expelled him. He is the one who fueled the last litigation in the temple in 2024. Also, he is the one who filed the recent litigation on Dr Daulat and Dr Jain so they ended up resigning. I am told that Anita Gondy does not do any surgery until she consults with Priest Brijesh on horoscope. This is a clear conflict of interest. According to people I spoke to, they think Rao Gondy who needs to be expelled again from the board.
Someone made a comment here, and honestly I feel this is the real main point in all this litigation.
Priest Brijesh needs to explain one simple thing — how did he pay $600,000 cash for the house when his salary is around $3,000 a month? Where did that money come from? I think this is a fair question and people deserve an answer.
I am also hearing that he is not staying in the temple premises anymore. If he wants to do his own business, fine, nobody has a problem with that. He can do astrology, he can run his business, whatever he wants. But why use the temple as a place to find new customers for his personal business?
There is also a rumor that this has become a big issue in the trustee board meetings and maybe this is one of the main reasons for all the fighting. Most of us who have spoken to Brijesh know that within 10 minutes of talking to him, somehow the conversation becomes about his astrology services and he starts talking about it.
He himself says, “I am Baniya first and then the priest.” If that is how he feels, then okay, let him be the Baniya and do his business. Nobody is stopping him.
But then the question naturally comes — why is he in the temple? If business is coming first, then what is the role of the priest and the temple?
I am not saying all these things are proven. But these are genuine questions that people are asking, and instead of we fighting about it, maybe this litigation will bring these answers
The man has been working at the temple for 16 years. What is the big deal if he purchased one house during that time? If you have any evidence of fraud, embezzlement, theft, or any other wrongdoing, then present the proof.
Otherwise, making unsubstantiated accusations only amounts to defaming the individual. You should also be aware that he may have grounds to pursue legal action for defamation if false or damaging statements are being made about him without evidence.
We clearly see who is wasting the temple recourses by keep doing these law suits. Return the temple funds first than do other laws suits.
