Judge Tina Talim Scores High in Judicial Survey, Eyes Re-election in 2026
In a recent judicial survey conducted by the UNLV’s Center for Research, Evaluation, and Assessment for the Las Vegas Review Journal, Indian-American Clark County District Court Judge Tina Talim ranked fifth among all District Court Judges. Judge Talim received an 85.5 percent retention recommendation and earned a strong integrity score of 4.32, reflecting Talim’s high marks for ethics and legal knowledge.
All 32 Clark County District Court judges will be on the ballot in 2026. The filing period for the judicial races runs from January 5 through January 16, 2026, and according to available information, all current District Court judges plan to seek another six-year term.

Judge Talim has expressed her intention to continue serving the community and is confident that voters will retain her, citing her high score in the judicial performance survey. Achieving such a strong retention score is a notable accomplishment, as Judge Talim has been on the bench for less than 20 months.
In June 2024, Judge Talim was appointed to a vacant District Court seat by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, following a recommendation from the Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection. Pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statutes, she ran for the same seat in November 2024 to complete the unexpired term. In the 2024 general election, 64.53 percent of Clark County voters voted to retain Judge Talim. She will seek election to a full six-year term in 2026.
The survey allowed attorneys to provide anonymous feedback on judges about whether they should stay on the bench, as well as for the categories of administrative ability, legal ability, and integrity. Bradley Marianno, the center’s director, said that if a judge receives a retention score over 80 percent, it would be a signal that the judge performs at or above standard. A score over 90 percent means “really strong performance” and indicates a top judge, he said.
