Fine Dining Indian Restaurants Gymkhana and Tamba Named to the Top 100 Restaurants in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Review Journal has recently published their annual top 100 restaurants in Las Vegas. Tamba and Gymkhana stand out as the city’s premier Indian dining destinations.
Per the Review Journal team of culinary connoisseurs, the Indian cuisine has moved beyond tikka clichés to the ranks of fine dining.
Here’s the coverage as published by the Las Vegas Review Journal…
A Mughlai mishmash of chicken tikka, generic “curries” and piles of naan has sometimes obscured in Vegas the ancient diversity of Indian cooking. That said, two Indian spots rank among the most exciting and beautifully designed restaurants to open here in recent years. One came from London bearing a global reputation. The other, an expanse of minimalist earth tones, unites dishes kissed by India, contemporary creations shaped by live fire and extensive vegetarian options.
Gymkhana
The Strip needed a top-drawer Indian restaurant; Gymkhana filled the void. Stunningly. The restaurant arrived from London bearing two Michelin stars and a design, based on upper-class Indian social clubs, harnessing rich leathers, dark woods, jewel tones and patterns, and animal and botanical images in gilt frames. Lacy, crisp pappadums await dipping in umami-hit Goan prawn chutney and other condiments. Goan lobster curry is rich with coconut milk, roasty with spices. Venison biryani joins with aromatic saffron rice. Sumptuous punches are served tableside for eight.

Tamba
About 18 months after relocating and reopening, Tamba has come into its own as a sleek avatar of modern Indian cooking. The James Beard Foundation named Tamba a finalist for Best New Restaurant, a national category, in the 2026 awards competition. The kitchen has a way with hamachi, endowing it with tangy, whisper-umami tamarind ponzu. Octopus charred on a tawa pan emerges from a josper live-fire oven. For bhuna gobi, cauliflower is josper charred, then balanced with green curry and broccoli purée. Vegan? Think spiced okra with pickled mango masala.
