Congressional Candidate Dr. Aury Nagy Shares Vision for Nevada’s 3rd District
Dr. Aury Nagy, a respected neurosurgeon and long-time Las Vegas resident, has officially entered the race for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District. In a recent interview with John Langeler from Channel 8, a CBS affiliate, Dr. Nagy outlined his vision for better health care for all Nevadans and other issues impacting the local economy.
With over 50 years of residency in Las Vegas and a distinguished medical career, Dr. Nagy emphasized his deep ties to the community and his commitment to addressing the needs of local families. He formally announced his candidacy last month at a well-attended event, where supporters gathered to hear his vision for the District. “As someone who has lived and worked in this community for decades, I understand the challenges we face,” Dr. Nagy said. “It’s time for a new direction—one rooted in accountability, service, and solutions,” said one of Dr. Nagy’s supporters

The race for Congressional District 3 is already drawing attention as one of the key contests in Nevada, a state known for its competitive swing districts. As the election season heats up, voters will have the opportunity to hear more from both candidates on how they plan to represent Southern Nevada in Washington.
Dr. Nagy is a distinguished neurosurgeon whose academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to excellence in medicine. A graduate of the prestigious Bishop Gorman High School, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Yale University. He pursued his medical degree at Baylor University, followed by a residency in neurosurgery at George Washington University. Dr. Nagy further honed his expertise by completing a fellowship in neurosurgery at Louisiana University, one of the most demanding and complex specialties in medicine.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Nagy has demonstrated a strong commitment to medical leadership and public service. He served as Chair of the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners, playing a key role in maintaining the integrity and standards of the medical profession in the state. He also held the position of Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at University Medical Center, where he made significant contributions to advancing neurological care.
