Dr. R. Pramod Kumar joins 1World Medicine’s Primary Care and Urgent Care clinic as an Associate Medical Director.

1 World Medicine is a Primary Care, Family Practice, Urgent Care, and Occupational Medicine clinic.  Dr. Kumar works with practitioners of complimentary medicines.  Services such as acupuncture, nutrition, yoga, and massage are also available to provide patients the best options for their ongoing health and wellness. 

During the opening ceremonies of the center, Dr. Kumar said, “this is a start of a new phase here in Las Vegas and going to integrate Eastern Medicine with the Western Medicine.”

Dr. Kumar is Board Certified Physician in Emergency Medicine.  Dr. Kumar is a graduate of Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, India.  He completed his Residency in General Surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Wisconsin.  In addition to being an Emergency Room Physician, Dr. Kumar has directed and managed Emergency Services of hospitals as well as Urgent Care facilities.   He has lectured on Sports Medicine, Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, and Physiology of Exercise and has also held committee positions in Continuing Medical Education, Medical-Legal, and Credentialing.

Dr. Rai Pramod Kumar has been practicing medicine in Las Vegas for more than 20 years. In 1990 he moved from Milwaukee Wisconsin where he was the Chief and Medical Director of the Emergency Department.  He came to Las Vegas as the Chief of Urgent Care at Southwest Medical Associates later was the Director of an independent Primary and Urgent Care facility.  For the past 10 years he has been a Physician at UMC.  Dr. Kumar has an outstanding reputation as a practicing physician in the Las Vegas area for many years.

Dr. Kumar’s daughter Omita Longwood, who has a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy, is the Yoga Therapist at the 1World Medicine.   Omita will be using various yoga therapies to treat various medical conditions such as Asthma, Hypertension, Depression and Anxiety, etc.  Omita will be customizing the yoga techniques based on patients’ ailments.
