Nevada Association of Physician of Indian Origin, Friends of India, South Asian Political Network Alliance and Vegasdesi to Raise Funds for Medical Community

In an ongoing commitment to the local health care community, the Nevada Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (NAPI), Friends of India (FOI), South Asian Political Network Alliance (SAPNA) and Vegasdesi have joined hands to raise funds to procure much-needed protective gear and equipment for the medical service providers.
The member organizations of Coalition for Physicians Accountability has declared that under the ethical tenets of their profession, physicians routinely care for others despite personal risk. Without safeguards such as proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adequate testing, they are putting the health of their patients, as well as their own health and that of their families, at risk. The Coalition recognizes that supplies of PPE at this time are inadequate. Health care workers are professionally bound to identify inadequate resources that impact their ability to safely treat patients or keep themselves safe.
Vikas Sayal, President of NAPI is coordinating with board members and the fellow Indian Physicians to contribute generously to the fund created via gofundme. All donations will be tax-deductible to the extent allowable by the IRS. The donated funds will be disbursed by NAPI, under the direction of President Dr. Vikas Sayal, to secure the necessary PPE for the medical community.

Friends of India President Mahendra Mehta is urging the community to donate generously for the betterment of the Las Vegas community and show our entrepreneurial spirit to those in need. Indian women group, led by Ms. Chandra Mehta, is already at the forefront of making protective masks that were delivered to Spring Valley Hospital and Centennial Hospital.
The fund is started on an encouraging note with a donation of $500 from SAPNA and $1,000 each from NAPI and FOI. If you need further information and have any suggestions, please contact Mahendra Mehta at 413-822-4386

It’s not lack of money that is hurting the medical community. The cause is the displaced manufacturing and distribution. The funds collected thru donations should be used to directly help truly needy in the community.
