Shelley Berkley, Candidate for the Mayor City of Las Vegas, Hauls Over $130,000 from the South Asian Community. Paul Padda Leads the Pack.
As the City of Las Vegas Mayoral race heats up, candidates Shelley Berkley and Victoria Seaman have been campaigning aggressively to raise money from the local South Asian community.
With a deep connection to the South Asian community, the former Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, a candidate for the Mayor of the City of Las Vegas, received $133,000 from the members of the burgeoning South Asian community, primarily Physicians. The largest donation, $10,000, came from a local prominent Indian-American trial attorney, Paul Padda. As of the last reporting period, Berkley has over $500,000 in cash for the upcoming campaign months.
Berkley’s opponent, the Las Vegas City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman, received $15,825 in political contributions from 20 donors. The largest donation, $5,000, came from convenience store owner Rapinder “Rupee” Chima.
