A Message of Appreciation from the Hindu Mandir’s Founding Trustee Dr. Ranjit Jain
This year, Hindu Mandir marks twenty-five years of dedicated service to our growing Hindu community in Las Vegas.
In response to an article submitted by an anonymous reader – evidently a sincere and committed supporter of the Mandir – Dr. Ranjit Jain, one of the founding trustees, conveys his appreciation for the author’s thoughtful and well-considered management recommendations. He acknowledges that these insights will assist in guiding the Mandir into the second quarter of this century, enhancing its service to the community and facilitating the smooth transition of leadership to the next generation. Below is the message from Dr. Ranjit Jain…
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and well-written approach on how we should choose the next Executive Committee. The points you made really match what our Temple needs right now — unity, trust, leadership focused on service, and not politics and favoritism.
It’s great to see the emphasis on picking people who connect with all regional and age groups, instead of those who might divide the community. Highlighting emotional intelligence, calm communication, and a history of volunteering shows a real understanding of what will help our Temple move forward. The focus on transparency, financial integrity, and ethical behavior is also very important to rebuild confidence among devotees. Making sure we bring in a mix of younger members, women, seniors, and different cultural backgrounds will keep the leadership balanced and fair.
We also appreciate the idea of short interviews, reference checks, and unity statements — simple steps that make sure every candidate is truly aligned with the mission of harmony. The recommendations on priest conduct are especially valuable. Keeping priests neutral and focused on spiritual responsibilities will help ensure the Temple stays a peaceful place for everyone, free from regional or political influence.
Overall, your article offers practical and positive suggestions that can really help the Board choose the right leaders. If we follow this guidance, we can build a stronger, warmer, and more united community going forward. Thank you again for putting these ideas together. I am more than happy to meet with you face to face to make sure we make the right decisions going forward.
Warm Regards,
Dr. Ranjit Jain, Founding Trustee and Former Chair of the Board of Trustees. ranjitjain@cox.net 702-521-4248
