Dr. Aury Nagy, a nationally recognized neurosurgeon and 50-year Nevada resident, officially announced today his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives, bringing a bold and experienced voice to the race. Running as a conservative Republican, Dr. Nagy pledges to restore integrity, common sense, and constitutional values to Washington.

A proud product of Bishop Gorman High School, and the son of Nevada’s first Oncologist in Southern Nevada, Dr. Nagy has dedicated his life to serving others — both in the operating room and in his community. Now, he’s stepping up to serve in Congress with a focus on fixing healthcare, put Nevada first in jobs and economic diversification, defending individual liberties, and support continued border security.

“I’ve spent my career making life-saving decisions with precision, integrity, and a deep respect for every human life,” said Dr. Nagy. “It’s time we brought that same level of accountability and focus to our government. Nevada families deserve a representative who will fight for them — not special interests.”

Dr. Nagy brings a rare combination of real-world experience and deep Nevada roots to the race. As a physician, he’s witnessed firsthand the failures of government-run healthcare and the burden of excessive regulations on professionals and patients alike.  He is also an entrepreneur in the bioscience and nutritional sectors, having founded and managed several companies. 

“As a neurosurgeon, I’ve seen firsthand how government red tape and bloated bureaucracy are driving up costs and driving out good doctors. Healthcare should be about patients and doctors—not insurance companies or Washington politicians. In Congress, I’ll fight to put patients back at the center of care, cut waste, and champion real reforms that lower costs without sacrificing quality or freedom.”

A father of two grown children, and committed community leader, Dr. Nagy is running to ensure that future generations have the opportunity to thrive in a free and prosperous America.

As of 2025, Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District (NV-03) encompasses the southern portion of the Las Vegas Valley, including areas such as Summerlin South, Spring Valley, and portions of unincorporated Clark County.

Politically, NV-03 is considered a competitive district with a slight Democratic lean, as indicated by its Cook Partisan Voting Index (PVI) of D+1. The district is currently represented by Democrat Susie Lee, who has served since 2019. Notably, in the 2024 elections, the district voted for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump while re-electing Democrat Susie Lee to the House, highlighting its swing district status.
