UCF’s earlier contract was for years 2022 through 2024 for 15 schools in the amount of up to $175,000 per school, costing the taxpayers a total of $2,625,000. The approved Memorandum of Agreement between the School District and the UCF is to provide school-based behavioral health services. The services include a mental health professional and a case worker at each site.

As per the Memorandum of Agreement, the contract calls for Mirchandani’s UCF to provide behavioral health screenings, individual therapy, targeted group therapy, family counseling, and referrals to pediatric psychiatric services and/or assistance with referrals to community resources, conditioned upon approval by the School District. Additionally, the agreement states that UCF shall provide school-based behavioral health services to eligible students, their younger siblings who reside in the same household or transient location of a student enrolled in the District, immediate adult family members residing with the students, and employees of the District. Students enrolled in the District may receive Services during the District’s instructional day, while other eligible people may access the services during after-school hours.

Mirchandani, who previously resigned from his public sector job after he was accused and investigated by the Nevada Commission on Ethics for allegedly violating Nevada’s Ethics in Government Law, has been able to secure these financially lucrative contracts despite possessing any background in Mental Health or any other health-related field.  He has previously stated that his inspiration has been Mother Teresa and her charitable works in Calcutta, India.
