Board of Medical Examiners Committee files Complaint Against Ravishankar Srinivas Konchada, M.D.

The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners has filed a complaint against Dr. Ravishankar Srinivas Konchada.  The Board is investigating Indian-American Dr. Konchada on one count of Medical Malpractice, and one count of violation of Standards of Practice. 

The investigation is a result of when one of Dr. Konchada’s patient underwent an MRI of the brain without contrast. As per the investigative complaint, Konchada failed to interpret the patient’s (name withheld) MRI correctly and in a timely manner which resulted in a patient suffering a serious stroke.  The complaint alleges Dr. Konchada putting a patient in a situation where it was too late for proper medical treatment.

As per the Medical Statues, the malpractice of a physician is grounds for initiating disciplinary action.  It is alleged that Dr. Konchada failed to use reasonable care, skill, or knowledge when rendering medical services to this particular patient.  

It is further alleged that Dr. Konchada failed to timely seek consultation with regard to this particular patient’s medical condition.  The State laws and regulations require a physician to seek consultation in a timely manner with another provider of health care in doubtful or difficult cases whenever it appears that consultation may enhance the quality of medical services.  

Dr. Konchada is a graduate of Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad, India, and completed a fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Licensed since 2014, Dr. Konchada has 20 days to file a response to the complaint.
