The Las Vegas Chapter of Ekal Vidyalaya invites everyone to its 9^th annual fundraising & musical evening with a performance by Vishwanath Batunge & Group from India, on Friday, April 19^th, 2019 at the Windmill Library, 7060 West Windmill Lane, Las Vegas.  Dinner starts at 6:00 pm, followed by an entertainment around 7:00 pm. 

The much-needed fundraiser allows our local Las Vegas community to be able to sponsor many under privileged children in India to participate in Ekal schools.   Ekal Vidyalaya is a non-profit organization on a mission to bring basic education to every child across rural India.  Some of the donors have already raised their support from sponsoring one school to multiple schools.  Last year, 2018 was the most successful in the history of local Las Vegas fundraising for EKAL with commitments for over 200 schools.

This year, the local chapter spearheaded by Girija Vijay,  has decided to sponsor Las Vegas EKAL on Wheels program with computers on board in a bus for rural children in the remote areas of India.

Over the last eight years, Las Vegas community has raised donations to help sponsor over one thousand Ekal schools, including 200 schools in 2018, which translates to approximately 28,000 children attending an Ekal school for a year.  This is all possible due to overwhelming generosity from our community volunteers and donors.  In addition, Ekal Las Vegas has provided a platform for many of our community children to volunteer and learn the meaning of “caring in action” through Ekal Las Vegas Youth Group.
