With the concern for the safety and well-being of the community due to the ongoing issues with COVID-19, the Las Vegas EKAL Board has decided to CANCEL the upcoming EKAL fundraiser event.

The Las Vegas Chapter of Ekal Vidyalaya invites everyone to its 10^th annual fundraising & musical evening with a performance by entertainers from India, on Friday, April 3^rd, 2020 at the Windmill Library, 7060 West Windmill Lane, Las Vegas.  Dinner starts at 6:00 pm, followed by an entertainment around 7:15 pm. This year, the theme for the evening entertainment is Bharat Ke Rang Ekal Ke Sang. Please buy your tickets ASAP by calling one of the program volunteers.

The much-needed fundraiser allows our local Las Vegas community to able to sponsor many underprivileged children in India to participate in Ekal schools.   Ekal Vidyalaya is a non-profit organization on a mission to bring basic education to every child across rural India.  Some of the donors have already raised their support from sponsoring one school to multiple schools.  Last year, 2019 was the most successful in the history of local Las Vegas fundraising as some generous donors donated a copious amount to acquire a bus with computers to teach underprivileged children in and around the City of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.

Over the last nine years, Las Vegas community has raised donations to help sponsor over one thousand Ekal schools, which translates to approximately 28,000 children attending an Ekal school for a year.  This is all possible due to overwhelming generosity from our community volunteers and donors.  In addition, Ekal Las Vegas has provided a platform for many of our community children to volunteer and learn the meaning of “caring in action” through Ekal Las Vegas Youth Group.
