Led by CoHNA, Southern Nevada Faith Communities to Convene to Support Right to Worship Act
The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) is inviting Southern Nevada’s diverse faith communities to an informational meeting on the Right to Worship Act, legislation currently under consideration by the U.S. Congress.
The legislation includes H.R. 10052 in the U.S. House of RepresentativesandS. 5289 in the U.S. Senate. The Southern Nevada Hindu community, led by CoHNA Board Member Sudha Jagannathan, is urging the region’s congressional delegation to support and advance the bills this year.

The proposed legislation addresses the protection of places of worship and reinforces the fundamental American principle of religious freedom. Faith communities across the country have experienced violence, threats, and intimidation directed at houses of worship and their congregants.
The Las Vegas-area gathering will bring together representatives and members of Sikh, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Mormon, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and other faith communities. Local religious denominations and community leaders are expected to participate. The meeting will provide an opportunity for Southern Nevada residents of diverse faiths to learn about the proposed legislation and stand together in support of the freedom to worship safely and without fear.
