Lunch and Conversations with Nevada Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony

SAPNA – South Asian Political Network Alliance, along with the South Asian Bar Association of Las Vegas (SABA-LV), invites you to its luncheon meeting with guest speaker Nevada Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony on Saturday, October 21st at 11:30 am at Mint Indian Bistro, 4246 S. Durango Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89147 [at South East Corner of Durango & Flamingo Road]
The cost per person is $20, which includes a specially prepared Indian lunch buffet with a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delights. A quick Q&A session will follow our guest speaker, Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony, short presentation. SAPNA luncheons provide a unique opportunity to meet and converse directly with our elected officials, policymakers & shapers. The attendees can partake in thought-provoking discussions on issues impacting the growing and successful South Asian community. Looking forward to seeing you there.
SABA-LV is sponsoring an event for South Asian families with school- and college-age children. SABA-LV will pay for lunch for the family members who attend the event, including a presentation about the field of law as a career. It is intended to spark interest in the area of law as a career for South Asian children who are of school and college age.

Stavros Anthony has been a close friend of the Indian community since he served as a Captain with the Las Vegas Metro. Anthony began his career with Metro Police in 1980 and most recently served the community as a captain overseeing the department’s Financial and Property Crimes Bureau. During his tenure at the Metro, Anthony attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. Anthony earned an M.A. and Ph.D. from UNLV, and his commitment to higher education got him elected to the Board of Regent Nevada System of Higher Education. After serving two terms as Regent, Anthony got elected to the Las Vegas City Council. He was appointed Mayor Pro Tem by Mayor Carolyn Goodman and served in that capacity for multiple years.
In 2022, Anthony was elected to the Lt. Governor of Nevada. Anthony currently serves as the President of the NV State Senate. His job responsibilities as Lt. Gov. include economic development, tourism, transportation, and more. In conversation with members of the Indian community, Anthony is keen on taking a business trade delegation to India to strengthen ties in high-tech, tourism, and other areas of mutual economic activities.
