Luncheon Meeting with Las Vegas City Councilwoman Nancy Brune, Ph.D.

SAPNA – South Asian Political Network Alliance, along with the South Asian Bar Association (SABA), invites you to its luncheon meeting with guest speaker newly elected Las Vegas City Councilwoman Nancy Brune, Ph.D. (D) on Saturday, March 25th at 11:30 am at Delhi Indian Cuisine, 8810 S. Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89123. [Maryland Pkwy & Pebble – Silverado Ranch Neighborhood]
The cost per person is $20, which includes a specially prepared Indian lunch buffet with a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delights. The short presentation by our guest speaker City Councilwoman Nancy Brune, will be followed by a Q&A session. We hope to see you there.
Dr. Brune received her Ph.D. and M.A. from Yale University. Before Yale, Dr. Brune graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Public Policy. She created two global datasets on financial liberalization and privatization that economists/researchers at Harvard Business School, the International Monetary Fund, OECD, Inter-American Development Bank, Columbia University, and the University of California at Berkeley have used. Additionally, she has held research fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University.

Locally, in 2014 Dr. Brune was named the founding Executive Director for the newly established Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities, Nevada’s ONLY state-wide, bipartisan public policy research center focusing on economic, educational, and social issues. Dr. Brune grew the organization from $125,000 to over $1 million in revenues, overseeing regular clean audits. She is the author of over 100 publications, and her research has informed legislation. She is currently a small business owner and understands fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets, and the value of hard work. More importantly, Dr. Brune understands and appreciates the importance of a multicultural community. She is the daughter and granddaughter of immigrants and has worked in and traveled to over 12 countries.

SAPNA and SABA regularly host luncheon meetings and invite local and national leaders to share their perspectives on social, legal, political, and economic issues affecting Nevada and the United States. The luncheon will provide a venue for community members to meet with elected officials and discuss issues concerning the community.
