Recently, Tina Talim made history as the first Indian-American judge in Nevada when Governor Joe Lombardo announced her appointment as a Judge to a recently vacated Clark County District Court Department 14 seat by Judge Adriana Escobar, who decided to retire. Talim, who previously served as the Team Chief of the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Unit in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, immigrated to the United States from India as a young child.

Judge Talim began her term on June 20, 2024. As the appointment was announced during the middle of the election season, Judge Talim will have to retain her seat and will be on the ballot in the November general election to continue serving the community.
