Ms. Pooja Charged with Possession with Intent to Sell a Controlled Substance
Ms. Pooja is charged on one count with the possession with an intent to sell Schedule I or II controlled substance – Flunitrazepam/ Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB). Ms. Pooja was arrested and charged in North Las Vegas with felony drug possession.
As this is the first offense of sale of a Schedule I or II substance for Ms. Pooja, it is considered a Category C felony. If proven guilty of category C felony, a court shall sentence Ms. Pooja to imprisonment in the state prison for a minimum term of not less than one year and a maximum term of not more than five years. In addition to any other penalty, the court may impose a fine of not more than $10,000.
A felony arraignment hearing is scheduled for mid-April.
