Per the filing, the government is in the process of producing discovery in this case, which includes information that confidential informant(s) and undercover officer(s) were involved in the investigation. While the discovery does not identify the confidential informant(s) by name, it includes information which is likely to make the identity of the informant(s) known to the defendant Ms. Singh.
The prosecutor is requesting the court for a protective order to protect the identity of the informant(s), all the texts, messages, phone calls, audio and video recordings. The protective order also calls for the defense team shall not allow the defendant to review the protected information. Further, the defense team shall not make or provide copies of the protected information or allow copies of any kind to be made for or provided to the defendant, the defendant’s family or associates, or any other person.
Ms. Singh, under oath, has testified that she is unable to pay for the legal counsel. The court finds Ms. Singh as indigent and has appointed a lawyer to represent her. The court is satisfied the defendant Ms. Singh is unable to pay fees and expenses of subpoenaed witnesses, so subpoenaed witness(es) shall be paid by the government and be advanced funds for travel and subsistence within Nevada.
An indictment is merely an allegation, and defendant Ms. R. Singh is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
