Twenty Students Named Semifinalists in 2020 National Merit Scholarship
National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced nineteen South Asian American Semifinalists students from Nevada in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Fifteen of the students are currently attending public schools in Las Vegas, and one student is attending the private The Meadows School. There are four students from Reno, Nevada. In a quest for a better understanding of the Southern Nevada’s growing and prosperous Asian American community, the Clark County Commission has approved a formation of the Asian American Pacific Islander Community Commission to research and understand the history, unique culture, and requirements of the local Asian communities. US Department of Labor Orders Dr. Dhaval Shah to Pay Overtime to Employees
Dr. Dhaval Shah owner of the Clinical Infectious Diseases Specialist will pay $43,247 in back wages and liquidated damages to 51 employees after a U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) investigation found violations of the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
