Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak has appointed acclaimed Neurologist-Lawyer Paul Janda to the Nevada State Board of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Janda is licensed to practice law in Nevada and also licensed to practice medicine in both California and Nevada, and is board certified in neurology. Dr. Janda joins the other two Indian-Americans on the Osteopathic Board, Sameer Pancholi, M.D., and Swadeep Nigam, Secretary-Treasurer of the Board. 

Attorney Dr. Paul Janda is the first and only board-certified neurologist-lawyer in the State of Nevada. Dr. Janda has lived in Las Vegas for over a decade. Dr. Janda was raised in California, where his father practiced Orthopedics, and his mother practiced Internal Medicine. Dr. Janda completed undergraduate coursework at Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Janda graduated from the University of California at Berkeley as a double major with two degrees, one in Psychology and the other in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Cell and Developmental Biology, where he was on the Dean’s List. 

Dr. Janda earned his medical degree from Touro University in California and was on the Dean’s List. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at Valley Hospital Medical Center locally. Additionally, Dr. Janda completed a short Transcranial Doppler and Cerebral Blood Flow Monitoring Fellowship at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine. After that, Dr. Janda completed the Neurovascular Interpretation program at the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Following that, Dr. Janda volunteered as a full-time research assistant at the Norris Cancer Hospital at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.

After finishing medical school and a fellowship in Neurology, Dr. Janda obtained his law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, making him the first and only Board-Certified Neurologist-Attorney in the State of Nevada. Dr. Janda served as the expert in the largest single-person verdict, represented by Paul Padda Law, in the State of Nevada for $160 million.  Dr. Janda enjoys helping clients navigate the often complex synergy of law and medicine.
