The Clark County Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Fayyaz Raja and Sanje Sedera to the Clark County Social Service Citizens Advisory Committee.  The committee identifies and communicates to the department crucial social service issues and service requirements regarding an improvement to client services and to assist in assessing the needs of the community.  The committee is comprised of a cross-section of Clark county citizens who have interests in social services impacting the community.

For the past 40 years, Fayyaz Raja is active in the South Asian community.  Fayyaz is currently serving as Chair of the Asian American Pacific Islanders Democratic Caucus and President of the South Asian Political Network Alliance.  Last year, the County Commission appointed Raja to the American Pacific Islanders Community Commission.  Raja, a graduate of UNLV College of Hotel Management, has worked in the Food and Beverage departments of many well-known strip resorts. Currently, Raja is an independent insurance broker.  Being a political activist and wel- informed resident of Clark County, Raja is a candidate for an open County Commissioner District B seat. 

Sanje Sedera is the owner of the Zenith Realty Group. Prior to starting his own real estate firm, Sanje worked in the local mortgage industry.  Previously, Sanje had a tumultuous tenure as a member of the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority and was on the Clark County Citizen Review Board.  Additionally, Sanje is active in the Clark County Democratic Party.
