Hardeep “Dee” Sull and Swadeep Nigam Appointed Commissioner on the Asian American Pacific Islanders Community Commission

The Board of Clark County Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Hardeep “Dee” Sull and Swadeep Nigam as Commissioners on the Asian American Pacific Islanders Community Commission (AAPICC) for the two-year term.  The Commission serves as a support liaison between the Asian-American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) community in Clark County, the Clark County Board of County Commissioners (County Commission), and the Clark County Manager’s Office.

The AAPICC consists of 15 active community members of Southern Nevada’s diverse Asian American community. The Commission was formed and initiated by the Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom, a long-time friend of the burgeoning and prosperous Asian Community.  The Commission shall be advising the County Commission and the Manager’s Office on the matters and concerns of the AAPI  community; educate the community on intolerance, xenophobia, and anti-Asian sentiment and promote equity for all AAPIs; convene community forums on public safety, human rights, economic development, housing,employment, social services, public health, transportation, education, and multicultural development for the AAPI community; along with other matters impacting the AAPI community.

Along with Hardeep “Dee” Sull, and Swadeep Nigam, other members of the South Asian community who applied for the Commissioner position were Ashok Goyal, Arun Gupta, Sanje Sadera, Sharifa Wahab.  Gupta and Wahab have previously served on the commission and were interested in continuing for another two-year term.  County Commissioners thank the duo for their two years of service on the commission.
