Indian American Rancho High School teacher Reuben D’Silva has announced his candidacy for Assembly District 28. Reuben D’Silva is a long-time community educator, leader and organizer. He is also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who received the Purple Heart in the Iraq War.

“I am focused on making sure our teachers have a voice at the table and that our students have all the tools they need to be successful in the classroom.” said Reuben D’Silva, “Secondly, I want to focus on revitalizing our economy and workforce. We continue to see families that are suffering because of the pandemic, and we need to help get them back on their feet.”

“It would be the honor of a lifetime to represent District 28, I was raised in Northeast Las Vegas, and I am very familiar with the needs of District 28,” said Reuben D’Silva.

Assembly District 28 encompasses the east side of Las Vegas and portions of North Las Vegas.

Mr. D”Silva has a strong passion for the community. He served on several committees including the CCSD Schools Safety Committee, the NLV Board of Library Trustees, and the KTNV Diversity and Inclusion Board of Advisors. He is looking forward to representing the families of District 28 and passing laws that work toward the betterment of the district’s residents.
