Legal Aid of Southern Nevada and Barbara Buckely Honor Attorney Paul S. Padda and Dr. Jaswinder S. Grover, M.D.

Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LACSN) and its distinguished CEO, former politico Barbara Buckley, recently honored attorney Paul S. Padda and spine surgeon Dr. Jaswinder Grover for their significant community contributions. Paul Padda established the Community Justice Fellowship as a means of giving back to the community. The Fellowship hires, trains and pays the salary of a recent law school graduate who works through LACSN to represent underprivileged and indigent clients facing legal issues.

According to Buckley, there are thousands of people right now in Clark County that face significant legal issues and cannot afford the services of an attorney. However, with the generous financial help of Padda and Grover, many of these unfortunate people, some of whom face homelessness while others are children who are without parents, will now receive free legal assistance. Padda and Grover have contributed a combined total of $100,000 to further the efforts of the Fellowship.
Attending the banquet honoring Padda and Grover was the who’s who of the legal community. Several judges, including the Chief Judge of the Clark County District Court, Linda Marie Bell, attended in honor of Padda and Grover. One legal heavyweight in attendance stated “this is amazing and will change so many lives. Paul Padda and Dr. Grover are true community heroes.”
In accepting their recognition, both Padda and Grover acknowledged the influence their parents have had in their lives and instilling in them a duty to give back to the community and help the less fortunate. Dr. Grover noted his father was an attorney and that he has always respected the role of lawyers in bringing justice to the less fortunate. Padda is well-known in the local South-Asian community as a premiere trial attorney and former federal prosecutor who worked in the U.S. Department of Justice for several years.
