Luncheon & Conversations with Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei

SAPNA – South Asian Political Network Alliance, along with the South Asian Bar Association of Las Vegas (SABA-LV), invites you to its luncheon meeting with guest speaker Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei on Saturday, September 2nd at 11:30 am at Mint Indian Bistro, 4246 S. Durango Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89147 [at South East Corner of Durango & Flamingo Road]
The cost per person is $20, which includes a specially prepared Indian lunch buffet with a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delights. The short presentation by our guest speaker Congressman Mark Amodei, will be followed by a Q&A session. SAPNA luncheons provide a unique opportunity to meet and converse directly with our elected officials, policymakers & shapers. The attendees can partake in thought-provoking discussions on issues impacting the growing and successful South Asian community. Looking forward to seeing you there.
SABA-LV is sponsoring an event for South Asian families who have school and college age children. SABA-LV will pay for lunch for the family members who attend the event, which will include a presentation about the field of law as a career. It is intended to spark interest in the field of law as a career for South Asian children who are of school and college ages.
Congressman Mark Amodei has been the U.S. Representative for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District since 2011. Mark was born in Carson City and has been a resident of Carson City since then. He graduated from Carson High School in 1976, where he was Student Class President. After graduating from the University of Nevada, he received his law degree from McGeorge Law School, University of the Pacific, in 1983.
Before getting elected to the U.S. Congress, Amodei served as an Assemblyman and State Senator in the NV legislature. In 2010, Amodei was elected as the Chair of the NV State Republican Party. Congressman Amodei currently sits on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. He is also a member of the subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies, Financial Services, and General Government; and serves as the Chairman of the Legislative Branch subcommittee. Congressman Amodei is also a member of numerous Congressional caucuses from the Army to Italian American Caucus.
Mark served with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps from 1983 to 1987 and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal.
