Non-Dischargeable Judgement of Over $236,000 Against Mandeep Singh and Jaspreet Kaur

As reported earlier, Dr. Prabhjot Siddhu intervened in Mandeep Singh and Jaspreet Kaur’s bankruptcy filing. After waiting for close to one year, a US bankruptcy court granted Dr. Prabhjot Siddhu’s motion for an entry of default judgment against Mandeep Singh and Jaspreet Kaur. This non-dischargeable judgment totals $236,000, covering the principal amount, pre-judgment interest, and attorney’s fees. Additionally, it includes post-judgment interest of 18% per annum from the judgment’s entry until the debt is paid in full to Dr. Siddhu.
A non-dischargeable judgment cannot be erased or eliminated through a bankruptcy proceeding, meaning the debtor Mandeep Singh and Jaspreet Kaur remain legally obligated to pay the full amount of the debt even after filing for bankruptcy. This typically applies to debts considered fraudulent, malicious, or related to essential obligations, as outlined under specific exceptions in the bankruptcy code.
