Pure Indian Cuisine Liquor and Other Licenses Suspended Due to Reported Shooting and Other Violations. Raja Mittal Failed to Fully Cooperate with Police.
The Pure Indian Cuisine restaurant was closed briefly by the Clark County Business License department due to the shooting near Pure premises and other licensing-related violations. The restaurant was informed by the Clark County Business Licensing Department of immediate suspension/revocation of licenses related to Hookah Services (revoked), Liquor – Supper Clubs (revoked), Food Services – Restaurant (suspended), and Incidental Activity Permit (suspended).
The areas of violations cited by the business license department included…
- Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reported shooting near Pure premises was related to customers in and around the restaurant. The shooting resulted in at least four gunshot wound victims.
- Violations of COVID-19 directives including but not limited to, not obtaining the required permit for large gatherings. LVMPD reported observing 350-400 people at the restaurant and issued a 36-hour emergency suspension.
- LVMPD reported that owner Raja Mittal, (a vexatious litigant as per the other court case), failed to fully cooperate with police during the above referenced shooting investigation.
- LVMPD issued a citation to the business for failing to maintain a master employee list.
The business license department has granted a one-year temporary license to Pure Indian Cuisine for food service only. The application for Supper Club, Service Bar, Liquor Caterer License is denied. The owner of Pure India has withdrawn its appeal of the denial. As per the investigative report, it is stipulated that the Pure Indian Cuisine owner, Ganesha LLC, will immediately take steps to have a new general manager at the restaurant at the earliest possible date.
With regard to the hookah lounge, the application is denied and Pure has withdrawn its appeal of the denial. As for the banquet facility, since it is not currently licensed, all activity, food service, and liquor shall not be allowed until such time as Clark County approves the appropriate license. The license application was terminated due to failure to timely cure discrepancies and pass inspection with the Clark County Fire Department.
Currently, Pure Indian Cuisine has been given a temporary business license for food service in the restaurant.
