Rajeev Khamamkar, M.D. – Suspension of Privileges. Another Complaint by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners

In an ongoing investigation of Rajeev Khamamkar’s professional medical practice, the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners alleges Khamamkar failed to report the adverse action taken by the Specialty Surgery Center.
As per the complaint, on November 2020 Khamamkar’s surgery privileges at Specialty Surgery Center were summarily suspended, indefinitely, pending the hearing and appellate review process, because of concerns regarding his compliance with Speciality Surgery Center policies, procedures, and practices.

After the completion of the hearing and appellate processes were completed, Khamamkar was ordered to complete professional courses on anger management, proper billing practices, and maintaining safety of controlled substances and to remain on suspension until the successful completion of those courses and must re-apply for privileges once the correction action requirements have been satisfied.
The “adverse action” as sanctioned by the Speciality Surgery Center was reported to the National Practitioner Databank. As per the Nevada Revised Statute, Khamamkar was required to report to the Board any sanctions imposed that are reportable to the National Practitioner Data Bank.
As per the complaint, Khamamkar did not report to the Board the suspension of privileges at the Surgery Center in a timely manner. As per the Nevada Medical Practices Act, Khamamkar is subject to discipline by the Board and may impose a fine of not more than $5,000 in addition to any other fines or penalties.
